Prof. Zhu Yingxin's Retirement Ceremony and Sharing of Research and Teaching Experience Successfully Held

Prof. Yang Xudong and Prof. Lin Borong, Vice Dean of School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, Prof. Zhang Xin, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Prof. Li Xianting, Dean of the Department of Architectural Technology Science and Director of the Institute of Construction and Environmental Research, and all the faculty members of the Institute of Construction and Environmental Research attended the event. Prof. Wei Qingpeng hosted the event.
At the beginning of the event, Mr. Wang Jinfeng, senior conductor of the Tsinghua University Union Teachers' Choir, led all the participants to sing the chorus of “My Motherland and I”, which created a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere for the scene. Prof. Zhang Xin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, delivered a speech on behalf of the School, welcoming the representatives from all walks of life and thanking Mr. Zhu for his long-time hard work in teaching, scientific research and public service; Prof. Feng Guogui, Deputy Director of Construction and Environmental Engineering Teaching Committee of the Ministry of Education of China, Vice-President of Shenyang University of Architecture, delivered a speech on behalf of the Committee and highly praised Mr. Zhu's outstanding achievement in teaching. Mr. Zhu's outstanding achievements in teaching and educating people were highly evaluated; Mr. Zhang Jie, President of CDFA, Chief Engineer of Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd, and Prof. Fan Xin, Secretary of the Party Committee of New Ziguang Group also delivered speeches successively, reviewing Mr. Zhu's great efforts in leading the integration of industry-academia-research over the years. In their speeches, all the guests expressed their heartfelt thanks to Mr. Zhu for his outstanding contributions to the development of the national construction and environmental protection education and the progress of the industry.
Afterwards, the meeting played a retrospective video elaborately made by the teachers and students of the Institute, which was divided into “Young Learning”, “Spring Rain”, “Academic Attainment” and The video is divided into four chapters: “Young Learning”, “Springtime and Rain”, “Academic Attainment” and “Musical Life”, which comprehensively shows Mr. Zhu's rich experience in Tsinghua Park for more than 40 years. In the video, Professor Zhao Qingzhu, a retired teacher of the Institute of Architecture and Environmental Studies (Mr. Zhu's class teacher during his undergraduate years), Professor Zhang Huan of Tianjin University (a classmate of Mr. Zhu during his undergraduate years), Professor Lian Zhiwei of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Wang Zhao-jun of Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor Richard de Dear of the University of Sydney, Professor Chungyoon Chun of Yonsei University, and graduated graduate students and current students under the guidance of Mr. Zhu are shown. Prof. Richard de Dear from University of Sydney, Australia, Prof. Chungyoon Chun from Yonsei University, South Korea, as well as representatives of graduated graduate students and current students under the supervision of Prof. Zhu, recounted the touching stories of Prof. Zhu at different stages of his study and teaching, and sent their sincere wishes to Prof. Zhu.
Afterwards, Prof. Zhu Yingxin shared his teaching and research experience with the title of “Thanksgiving for 45 years in Tsinghua Park”, mainly reviewing his working and living experience in Tsinghua Park from the aspects of undergraduate teaching, scientific research and talent cultivation, and sharing his experience in teaching, educating and academic research. Summarizing his 34 years of teaching career, Mr. Zhu believed that he had achieved his goals and had no regrets, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the university, his mentors, his family and his team.
Towards the end of the event, Mr. Wang Congfei, Deputy Secretary General, spoke on behalf of the China Institute of Refrigeration, thanking Mr. Zhu and presenting him with a commemorative plaque and certificate of appreciation; Mr. Wang Dongqing, Secretary General, on behalf of the HVAC Branch of the Architectural Society of China, presented Mr. Zhu with a flower and a commemorative plaque. Prof. Zhang Xin and Prof. Li Xianting, on behalf of School of Architecture and Institute of Architecture and Environmental Studies of Tsinghua University respectively, jointly presented a commemorative plaque of honorary retirement to Mr. Zhu. Mr. Zhu and his lover, Mr. Gao Zhi, expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the long-term support from all sectors. Mr. Zhu said that he will continue to devote himself to the research and talent cultivation in the field of architecture and environmental protection, and contribute to the development of the discipline and the industry.
