Energy efficiency of farmhouse buildings is one of the important contents of current village construction. Based on the on-site research of farm houses in the northern region, this paper researches the energy-saving renovation scheme of the enclosure structure of farm houses, and proposes and designs the optimization method of menu selection of energy-saving schemes. The method takes into account the energy-saving effect of different insulation solutions and the affordability of farmers, and can not only give the optimal solution for energy-saving renovation of the farmhouse envelope under a certain budget investment, i.e., "recommended dishes", but also according to the user's "self-selected dishes", which intuitively reflects the initial investment and the corresponding cost. It can also reflect the initial investment and the corresponding energy saving rate intuitively. The menu approach is efficient, flexible and universal, and has practical value for the determination of energy-saving retrofit programs for rural building envelopes in China.
